revolutionize your skincare

with a simple, elegant, single-product solution that replaces complicated, ingredient-heavy skin care regimens.
Struggling skin– whether it's dry, sensitive, breaking out, overly oily, or a baffling combination of these– is not suffering from a deficiency of skin care products.
It's suffering from a lack of balance. Our skin, functioning in balance, is a beautifully engineered ecosystem designed to maintain, moisturize, and protect itself.
However, living in an imperfect world, we face multiple factors that can throw off that delicate balance that keeps our skin healthy and functioning properly. These factors include hormonal shifts; medications; cold, dry air in the winter; and out-of-balance lifestyles that keep us stressed out, sleep-deprived, malnourished, and dehydrated.
But it gets worse, as many of us try to correct the visible signs of these imbalances by throwing every skin care product we can find at our faces... Exfoliants! Cleansers! Toners! Scrubs! Moisturizers! Our well-intentioned attempts to help are actually blasting our skin with harsh skincare ingredients that strip its natural protection, open it to bacteria, or overwhelm, sensitize and irritate it.
Ophir's purpose is to replace all these imbalanced approaches with one simple and sweet daily routine that is tailored to gently moisturize and condition your skin, and support your skin's own ability to heal, protect, and regenerate itself.
Ophir Gold can't fix hormonal imbalances or your stressful schedule (we wish!) but it can stop the exacerbation of those imbalances, and give your skin the support and pampering it needs to begin to rebalance itself.

Gold serum • Daily usage instructions

1.
Start with freshly cleansed, very damp skin.
2.
Dispense a single pump of Gold into your palm.
3.
Rub your hands together briefly and briskly to warm the serum.
4.
In a gentle upward motion, smooth Gold into your face, neck, and décolletage. Allow to soak in for one minute.
One use or two?
It's up to you!
as a cleanser
Gold makes a fantastic cleansing oil, gently dissolving and lifting makeup, dirt, and oil without stripping or irritating skin; leaving skin fresh and moisturized!
To use as a cleansing oil, simply pump two or three pumps of oil into your palm and massage gently into your skin in a circular motion for one minute. (As with any cleansing oil, don't get it in your eyes! Oil doesn't feel nice in your eyes.)
After massaging skin, use a very warm wet cotton cloth to gently remove excess oil and everything it lifted from your skin during the massage process.
If needed, finish by moisturizing with a few more drops of Gold; many clients do not find this necessary after oil cleansing.
as a moisturizer
Once they have used Gold for a while, and their skin has begun to rebalance, many clients find that they do not need cleansing on days they don't wear makeup.
For these clients, a simple light exfoliation with a warm, clean wet cotton cloth can be followed by massaging in a single pump of Gold– for a face that is happy and glowing all day long!

How can a single product work for different skin types?
because the answer to imbalanced skin is... balance!
How can oily skin, dry skin, and hyper-sensitive skin all have one product as their solution??
Because, as we discussed above, the majority of common skin struggles come down to a simple lack of balance.
Skin concerns that seem like opposites– like dry skin vs. oily skin, for example– usually come down to the same root: the skin's attempts to solve imbalances.
By rebalancing your skin's ecosystem, Ophir empowers your skin to correct a broad variety of issues that may seem disconnected.
When your skin is over-producing oil, for instance, our instinct is to try to address this issue by scrubbing the oil away more frequently, and with more drying cleansers.
But this fails approach fails to answer the question: why is your skin over-producing oil? Often, excess oil production is simply the skins attempt to rebalance itself in response to harsh, stripping, or drying forces.
Counter-intuitively, removing harsh cleansers and stripping agents, and adding the right types of oils to your skincare routine, can help your skin to calm down, and balance its oil-production.

Ingredient no. 105

Argan oil
Argan oil, made from the kernels of Moroccan Argan trees, is highly prized in skincare for its multitude of benefits. Argan oil's high levels of fatty acids and antioxidants make it a nourishing moisturizer that hydrates and softens skin, and improves complexion and skin tone. Those same antioxidants also improve skin elasticity and protect against damaging free radicals, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and helping the skin repair itself after sun exposure.Argan oil is also known for it's anti-inflammatory properties. It can aid in calming irritation and reducing redness found in acne, eczema and psoriasis.Argan oil is non-comedogenic (it won't clog your pores) as well as a "dry" oil-- meaning that it soaks into your skin rapidly, without heaviness or greasiness.
Ingredient no. 110

Clove Oil
Clove essential oil is made from the spicily fragrant buds of the clove plant. A highly potent essential oil, clove oil can cause burns if used in high concentrations. Added to skincare products according to safe formulation standards, however, it is not only safe and gentle, but a highly beneficial and healing component of high quality skin care. Clove essential oil is best known for its anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which make it extremely beneficial for acne-prone skin. It also stimulates circulation, which is essential for healthy skin.

Coriander Oil
Similar in chemical composition to lavender oil, coriander oil is distilled from the seeds of the coriander (cilantro) plant. It has a soothing, mildly nutty, herbaceous scent, and is used in aromatherapy to reduce anxiety and promote peace and inner calm. Topically, coriander works to fight against acne, and soothe and heal skin.

Geranium Oil
Geranium essential oil has earned its role in the highest-quality skincare formulations with its multitude of skin benefits.
Geranium oil balances and brightens skin tone. It tightens and prevents sagging skin, has healing properties, helps to balance sebum production, and carries a range of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-fungal benefits as well.
A little of this ingredient goes a long way; so while you will notice the benefits this ingredient provides in your daily skincare regimen, you won’t notice the traditional geranium scent. (Our founder Laura, who particularly and somewhat irrationally despises the scent of geraniums, carefully tailored the formula to ensure that the scent does not convey in the serum- followed by testing the scent profile with fellow geranium-hating women– and it has been approved!)
Ingredient no. 225

Helichrysum Oil
One of the most precious essential oils, helichrysum oil is extracted from the sunny yellow blossoms of helichrysum italicum. It takes between 1 and 1.5 tons of blossoms to produce less than five cups of helichrysum oil, making it an extremely expensive and sought after ingredient for luxury skin preparations.
Helichrysum is a powerhouse skin care ingredient; it promotes collagen production, fights free-radicals, soothes inflammation, and reduces fine lines, scars, and redness.
Ingredient no. 045

Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil has earned its place as a pillar of plant-based skin care. Derived from jojoba seeds, jojoba oil is actually a wax. It is unique in that its chemical structure is nearly identical to human sebum, making jojoba oil uniquely effective at not only nourishing the skin, but actually balancing the skin’s own oil production.
